North Devon District Hospital - Laminate flooring
Unicraft completed a laminate flooring installation project at North Devon District Hospital, providing a durable, practical, and contemporary flooring solution for a busy healthcare environment. The works include shop fit-outs, communal corridors and restaurants.
The project involved the installation of high-quality laminate flooring across designated areas of the hospital, helping to refresh the interior while delivering a hard-wearing surface capable of withstanding regular foot traffic from patients, staff, and visitors.
Throughout the project, we supplied and installed commercial-grade laminate flooring, selected to provide a robust and attractive finish suitable for the environment.
Before installation, the existing floor was assessed and prepared to ensure a suitable base for the new flooring. Our experienced installation team then carefully planned the layout and installed the laminate, paying close attention to joints, edges, doorways, and transitions.
The team maintained a clean and organised working area throughout the project, helping to ensure that disruption to hospital staff, patients, and visitors was kept to a minimum.
Thornlea - Exeter University
Unicraft recently completed a commercial flooring installation project at the University of Exeter, delivering a high-quality carpet tile solution designed to meet the demands of a busy learning environment.
The project focused on transforming communal and student areas with a durable, practical, and visually appealing flooring finish that complemented the modern interior while providing the performance required for everyday use.
The installation also had to be carefully managed to minimise disruption to the facility and ensure the surrounding areas remained safe and accessible throughout the works.
Unicraft supplied and installed commercial-grade carpet tiles across the designated areas. The selected flooring featured a contemporary grey and blue-toned finish, creating a professional and welcoming environment while helping to define different areas within the space.
Prior to installation, the existing floor was prepared to ensure a suitable and stable surface. Our installation team carefully planned the layout and positioning of the carpet tiles to achieve clean lines, consistent joints, and a high-quality overall finish.
Particular attention was given to perimeter areas, entrances, furniture zones, and transitions to ensure the completed installation was both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
Matford Lodge
The Unicraft team was appointed to carry out the installation of new laminate flooring within Matford Lodge in Exeter. The project required careful planning and attention to detail to ensure the flooring was installed to a high standard while minimising disruption to hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
Working within a live environment presented several challenges. Areas had to remain safe, clean, and accessible throughout the works, with strict consideration given to infection control, noise, dust, and pedestrian access.
The existing flooring required preparation before the new laminate could be installed. Our team worked closely with the relevant site personnel to plan the installation around the hospital's daily operations and ensure that work areas were properly controlled.
The completed laminate flooring provided the hospital with a fresh, durable, and professional-looking finish. The installation was completed with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment, while maintaining the high standards expected within a healthcare setting.

University of Exeter - Sports Floor
Unicraft had the pleasure of working alongside the University of Exeter on the installation of a high-quality timber sports flooring system, designed to provide a durable, resilient and aesthetically pleasing finished surface.
The project required a flooring solution capable of withstanding the demands of a busy university environment while providing the performance characteristics expected from a modern sports floor.
As part of the installation, we fitted a semi-sprung timber support system, carefully positioned to provide the required level of resilience and support beneath the finished floor.
RWA45 insulation was installed between the timber supports, helping to enhance the acoustic and thermal properties of the floor construction while contributing to the overall performance of the system.
The finished floor was completed using Junckers Sylvasport Beech timber floor planks, providing a high-quality, hard-wearing surface with the natural appearance and character of real timber.
